Tasks vs events
Shelf distinguishes two planner item kinds. Tasks are in-app work: revise Chapter 4, re-read a judgment, finish a mock. Each task can link to a /my-content path so one click opens the exact page in your library.
Events are calendar blocks — coaching classes, mock test days, or live streams. They support optional https links and recurrence (daily, weekly, monthly) with an end date.
Week board and month grid
The week view is a Jira-style board: seven day columns plus a To plan backlog for unscheduled items. Drag cards from backlog onto a day to schedule them.
Month view shows the current month only — no scrolling through adjacent months. Each cell shows up to two items with a "+n more" overflow indicator. Drop onto a day to assign a due date.

Schedule reading from the reader
In any open document, tap Schedule in the bottom bar to create a task pre-linked to that page. Incomplete scheduled pages show a small calendar icon in library lists so you see what's queued for revision.

Dashboard Next up
The signed-in dashboard surfaces at most two actionable items — overdue first, then today, tomorrow, later — with a link to the full planner when you have more backlog.

Tasks are checkboxes — finish this chapter, attempt ten MCQs, write one essay draft. Events are calendar blocks with start times — mock test at 10am, coaching class at 6pm.
Both can link to a library page so one click opens the exact PDF or doc you planned to use.

Week and month views
Week view is the daily driver during active prep: see Friday's polity block beside Saturday's test. Month view helps spot overload weeks before you commit.
Drag is not required — quick-add from the planner board keeps capture fast on mobile.

Linking pages
When creating a task, pick a page from search — Shelf stores the stable slug. Rename the page later; the task link still resolves.
Open from calendar: reader loads with your last read position when sync is enabled.
Dashboard integration
Open tasks surface on the signed-in dashboard beside streak stats — you see study debt at a glance without opening planner first.
Completing a task is optimistic in the UI — instant checkmark, API confirms in background.

Recurring revision
Duplicate weekly tasks for subjects you revisit — "Revise Economy L1" every Sunday. Events for fixed coaching schedules sit alongside one-off mocks.
Use tags in titles until native recurrence expands — consistent naming keeps search useful.

Non-blocking planner
Planner data loads from cache first; refetch never blanks the calendar. Mutations (complete, rename, delete) feel instant with rollback on failure.
That matters on flaky mobile networks during commute planning.
